Backwater

Kerala’s beautiful backwaters stretching to about 900 km. The major backwater regions are Kollam, Alappuzha, Kuttanad, Kumarakom, Kasargod, Thiruvallam and Kozhikode. The backwaters are the venue of Kerala's prestigious boat races. The Lake Vembanad is the largest of Kerala backwaters that lies bordered by Kottayam, Ernakulam and Alappuzha districts. The backwaters as well as the traditional houseboats are prominent tourism attractions of Kerala.
